Tie the Knot

February is the time when lone wolves are traveling in search of estrus females. This pair was in a tie in the Blacktail Pond area in Yellowstone Park. The gray collared female is a member of the Leopold pack and the black male is a thought to be a member of the Swan Lake pack.
